Novice Rookie Gas/Rookie Gas - Starting in 2011, the age requirements for Rookie Gas will be modified to include drivers with an attained age of 7, as long as they meet either of the following requirements.
- Drivers with an attained age 7 may compete in the Rookie Gas class if they have completed One Full Year in the Novice Rookie Gas class.
- Drivers with an attained age 7 that have not raced one full year in Novice Rookie Gas may compete in the Rookie Gas class only with the Forks Karting Association's board approval.
Briggs Flathead/Animal - Also in 2011, there will no longer be separate classes for the Briggs Animal and Flathead engines. There will now be Jr. I Light, Jr. I Heavy, Jr. II Light, Jr. II Heavy, Sr. Med and Sr. Heavy. Both engines are allowed to participate in these classes. Novice Rookie Gas, Rookie Gas and Masters engine rules will remain the same.
NUMBER PANELS - We cannot stress this enough. Numbers need to be black on a white background, and displayed on all four sides of the kart. If these are not changed, you will not be scored. The scorers have a tough enough job already, and trying to read a number zipping past them at 40mph shouldn't be one of them.
Safety Equipment - The Pre-Race Tech will require an adult driver or adult pit member be present during safety inspection, so that any issues can be resolved. Also, please have the drivers safety gear in the seat so that it can be inspected as well. It is your responsibility to have the correct equipment. Check the Pre-Race Check List or the 2010 Rules for more information.
