The following are a list of the classes run at the Forks Karting Speedway.

Age requirements shown are for the 2010 Racing Season.

Novice Rookie Gas

1. Briggs JR 206 Factory Sealed (see FKA JR 206 rules )
2. Engines will run on pump gas only, NO additives.
3. Throttle Slide.310 max opening with lock
4. Rapp J18 .880 header wrapped & RLV muffler
5. Stock Green air filter
6. Max Torque SS  12T clutch (stock no modifications )
7. Rear gear 75T
8. Max tire rollout 34-1/2 in
9. Chassis must meet the same Tech Rules as any other Jr. Chassis
10. No steering column fairings allowed.
11. Body work may be used upon approval of Pre-Race Tech director, but front nose cannot restrict driver’s view of the track.
12. Wide rear bumper required
13. Age - Attained age of 5 – competition age 7(born Jan 1st, 2003 thru Dec 31st 2003)

Rookie Gas

1. LO 206 Factory Sealed Briggs Animal (Preferred), or FKA Inspected and Sealed Stock Briggs Animal, NO MODIFCATIONS. LO 206 rules apply with FKA changes (less rev limiter pipe change and .400 max slide opening with lock ect)
2. Engines will run on pump gas only, NO additives.
3. Throttle Slide .400 max opening with lock
4. Rapp J18 .880 header wrapped with RLV muffler
5. Only shoe type clutches allowed.  Clutches must be Noram/Ratech GE Series, Mounted Inboard (Meaning shoes outward so you can see them).
6. Max Race-Ready Kart Weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
7. Chassis must meet the same Tech Rules as any other Jr. Chassis
8. No steering column fairings allowed.
9. Body work may be used upon approval of Pre-Race Tech director, but front nose cannot restrict driver’s view of the track.
10. Kart and driver must weigh 235 pounds minimum.
11. Wide back bumper required.
12. Age - Born between Jan, 1st 1998 and Dec, 31st 2002

Rookie Gas Class Guidelines

1. A driver will be allowed to participate in this class for 2 years maximum.
2. Once a driver completes 3 nights of racing, that is considered a year of eligibility.
3. If a racer is showing consistent dominance in this class, they may be asked to move up to the next class. The end decision will be made between FKA and the parents or guardians of the racer. 

Jr. I Light – Flat Head Briggs

1. IKF Stock 5HP Flat Head Briggs.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. .425 blue Restrictor Plate must be used.
4. Weight--235lb. Minimum.
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1998 and Dec, 31 2002

  Jr. I Light – Animal

1. IKF Stock Briggs Animal.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. 3-hole .250 Black Restrictor Plate
4. Weight--235lb. Minimum.
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1998 and Dec, 31 2002

Jr. I Heavy

1. IKF Stock 5HP Flat Head Briggs with .425 blue Restrictor Plate, or
2. IKF Stock Briggs Animal, 3-hole .250 Black Restrictor Plate
3. Engines will run on alcohol.
4. Weight--270lb. Minimum--(Animal engine weight subject to change)
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1998 and Dec, 31 2002

Jr. II Light – Flat Head Briggs

1. IKF Stock 5HP Flat Head Briggs.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. .500 red Restrictor plate must be used.
4. Weight--285lb. Minimum.
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1994 and Dec, 31 1998.

Jr. II Light - Animal

1. IKF Stock Briggs Animal.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. 3-Hole .312 Gold Restrictor Plate
4. Weight--285lb. Minimum.
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1994 and Dec, 31 1998.

Jr. II Heavy

1. IKF Stock 5HP Flat Head Briggs, with .500 Red Restrictor Plate, or,
2. IKF Stock Briggs Animal, 3-Hole .312 Gold Restrictor Plate
3. Engines will run on alcohol.
4. Weight--320lb. Minimum--(Animal engine weight subject to change)
5. Max Race-Ready Kart weight without Driver is 200 lbs.
6. Age--Born between Jan, 1st 1994 and Dec, 31 1998.

Sr. Medium

1. 5HP Flat Head Briggs Only.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. Weight--345lb. Minimum.
4. Age--Born before Dec, 31st 1994

Sr. Medium - Animal

1. IKF Stock Briggs Animal.
2. Engine will run on alcohol.
3. Weight--345lb. Minimum.
4. Age--Born before Dec, 31st 1994

Sr. Heavy

1. 5HP Flat Head Briggs or IKF Stock Briggs Animal.
2. Engines will run on alcohol.
3. Weight—Flat Head (345lb.) Animal (370lb.-Subect to Change) Minimum.
4. Age--Born before Dec, 31st 1994

Yamaha

1. KT100 Yamaha
2. Weight--360lb. Minimum.
3. Age--Born before Dec, 31st 1994

Masters

1. 5hp Stock Appearing Briggs Flathead or Briggs Animal built to Sr. Medium specs.
2. Weight--380lb. Minimum.
3. Age--35 Years or older.

***FKA reserves the right to alter the restrictor plate size and weights of the karts to keep the classes safe and allow competition between the different types of engines***
